hackfrankfurt.de Fine Dust Hackathon on Global Open Data Day

Join us on Open Data Day! As per our tradition we are hosting a hackathon on Open Data Day. This year, we will be dealing with environmental issues and air quality factors. Mobile fine dust senors in particular. We'll put them on bikes, wheelchairs, or as wearables for pedestrians.

There will be three teams according to our new structure to tackle this topic:
1) Measurement of data using LoRaWAN, based on the SDS011 sensors used by luftdaten.info. Here we will try to find new ways of mobile measurement of fine dust without the need of a WIFI. Thus LoRaWAN, which is a new technology for IoT devices. Some more information on the IoT glue we'll use here: https://www.thethingsnetwork.org/community/frankfurt/#welcome
2) Vizualisation and Analysis. We'll visualize the fine dust and GPS data (fine dust measurements taken on routes, privacy is taken seriously!) on interactive maps. We'll explore Vue.js (nice React alternative) as the basis and use leaflet.js for the map part.
3) Outreach, Participation & Project Management: Here we want to identify new partners in order to bring change to our community. Some are already on our list, but let's stick our heads together to find the really good ones.

You can find the hackathon details on http://hackfrankfurt.de and our new community concept in more detail here: https://gist.github.com/aCandidMind/5f1c58c9150b6bd6787328c2b49fdeb1

For all groups we have and need created, interested and skillfull people. It does not matter what your background or prior knowledge is, our intention is to have fun, do interesting stuff with technology and make a change to the places we live.

Have fun and maybe win one of our prizes. See it in the comments.
